Our Crowdfunding Groups
Glide began in 1929 when Methodist philanthropist Lizzie Glide donated a parcel of land for a church. It experienced a rebirth in the '60s offering a safe place to many disenfranchised groups. Despite the active gains Glide has fought for, a suffering economy, poverty, drug abuse, violence, and despair continue in San Francisco. Students will join Glide's work to be an oasis in the desert of hopelessness by preparing meals for the community and learning from community leaders about the solutions that can help their community. Students will stay at the Waller Center in the Haight-Ashbury District.
Each team member has a fundraising goal of $450.
