Location: Seattle, Washington
Issue Area: Homelessness
Made famous by its music and coffee, Seattle is a city rich in cultural diversity. What many people don't recognize, however, is that Washington’s King County has up to 8,000 homeless people on any given night. Of those served by food banks in Seattle, 25% are families with children.
Our team will be working with Hope Place at the Union Gospel Mission, an organization providing programs for drug recovery, transitional housing, educational and career resources. UGM’s mission is “To serve, rescue, and transform those in greatest need through the grace of Jesus Christ.” Hope Place is the branch of UGM that supports women and children. At Hope Place, they are dedicated to providing emergency care and long-term recovery service to women seeking help getting on theri feet, and UGM has vowed not to stop serving until they have solved the root causes of poverty and homelessness.
While in Seattle, our team of powerful women will work with the women and children of Hope Place, serving meals, helping around the facility as needed, and learning from their stories.
Please support our team as we prepare to continue the mission of Union Gospel Mission.
