A distinguishing hallmark of the Buenos Aires international program experience is the strong engagement of our students in numerous service programs and opportunities throughout their time in South America. Thousands of hours are dedicated by our students in caring for orphans and foster children at Adulam, assisting the underprivileged with meals and resources, working with local churches to provide for the homeless and indigent communities, assisting students with after-school programs at La Casita, working with Engineers Without Borders to provide for better and cleaner water resources for the people of El Negrito, and so much more.
Service is intentionally embedded in both the curricular and co-curricular activities. It strengthens the awareness of and encourages active involvement in the local communities and communities at large and enhances the students’ academic, intellectual and spiritual development. It is a way of life which defines and enriches the total experience for our students, allowing them to use their gifts to make positive impact to the people of Argentina and other parts of South America. The need for our students’ loving service is plentiful, and our students give so much of themselves to help provide for the needs of their communities. The program has spent significant financial resources to facilitate and provide for these service opportunities. The students contribute their own funds to help provide for the needs of these programs. The annual cost to provide transportation, materials and other supplies continues to grow.
